About South Shore Ink
Ink Your Story, Forever Told.
Honolulu tattoo artist Bryce Luning was born and raised in the islands of Hawaii. He is a graduate of the Kamehameha schools. Tattooing was the natural product of his affinity for the arts. Bryce’s father Kerry played a significant role in shaping his artistic development by exposing him to sketching and water color painting, which, led to his love for fishing, pottery and glass blowing. His love for art and the early influence of his father are often seen in the care he gives to each tattoo he creates.
As with many local boys, Bryce has kept a strong relationship with his mom and his siblings, sisters Jess, Nicole, Kelike and Marissa. Spending time with his family is a priority. Growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii, a melting pot of cultural influences led Bryce into the tattoo world much earlier than most. Family members often proudly displayed their tattoos exposing Bryce to the art at a young age. His natural art ability and love for the arts was realized in high school when he excelled in pottery making. He continued to create art in college in Santa Ana where he tried his hand at glass blowing and other art classes. Tattooing was the obvious choice for Bryce because it felt right and he knew he wanted to pursue it.
